Pepper Market Review Week 43 2018

Pepper prices  continued to surge during the week under review in all Origins .Vietnam farmers moved their farm grade prices to 63000  VND per kg adopting the staggered selling strategy squeezing both domestic collectors and exporters who have sold the last quarter of the year based on 45-48000 VND per kg following the Brazil Prices .Good demand for prompt shipment at current levels prompted farmers and intermediaries to hold back the stock for higher prices

500 gl Asta cleaned pepper was traded USD 3025 FOB 3100 USD for 550 gl Asta and USD 3150 FOB for 570 gl Asta for both November and December shipments.

Brazil Asta  was quoted USD 2500 FOB for December shipment with November shipment extremely difficult from Brazil with heavy congestion in ports

Indian MG-1 was quoted USD 5650 FOB Cochin with most of the trade happening only for Domestic Consumption at current levels

Indonesian Asta can provide some relief to Non Sterile Asta buyers as we expect some profit taking sellers domestically  showing up willing to do Lasta below Vasta levels quietly

Keep covered for nearby as shipments are likely to be delayed with exporters getting hurt with prices moving up more than 20% since last 6 weeks
