Late Harvest coupled with Staggered Selling amidst panic buying for prompt shipments keeps pepper prices high In Vietnam in week 9 though expected to see some respite in pricing after the rally we saw after Lunar New year .Currently we see Vietnam is bombarded with inquiries from world over but we see demand for prompt shipments Outstripping supplies from farm gate . Harvest in Gia Lai has just begun which used to be Vietnam’s largest Pepper Producing Province, Next week harvest in Daklak the second largest Producing province will commence and by third week we expect the flows to increase and one will be able to buy hundreds of ton of pepper at same price from various collectors unless they hold the pepper tight like they did in coffee in which we saw almost 45 % increase in just 16 weeks. Pepper had already seen a USD 1000 per metric ton in the last 8 weeks .
