Pepper market updates mid week 6 2025

Pepper prices in Vietnam have surged due to a combination of factors. The country’s pepper industry is facing significant challenges, including a prolonged drought earlier this year that delayed the 2025 harvest by one to two months. This delay has affected the quality of the crop, with pepper berries  not maturing as expected.¹ Additionally, Vietnam’s limited pepper stock is causing prices to rise with each transaction. The global market is also influencing prices, with Indonesia’s pepper harvest season coming to an end and Brazil becoming the primary supplier. However, Brazilian exporters have been reducing their offers in the market, contributing to the price increase.

*Key Factors Contributing to the Price Surge:*
 *Delayed Harvest*:

Prolonged drought delayed the 2025 harvest, affecting crop quality and quantity. –

*Limited Stock*: Vietnam’s low pepper inventory is driving up prices. – *

Global Market Dynamics*: Changes in global supply and demand, including Indonesia’s harvest season ending and Brazil’s reduced exports. –

*Currency Fluctuations*: Interest rate cuts by the US Federal Reserve may lead to a stronger currency for pepper-exporting countries, including Vietnam, resulting in higher prices.
