Excessive Speculation in Vietnam Spoils Global as high as 185 K Pepper Mart

Pepper Prices drop 25% from the peak in 14 days

Black and White Pepper Prices which increased 85% in just 4 weeks dropped 25% in 12 days with buyers deciding not to follow the ever increasing domestic prices and delay or default shipments which was a chain of action from farmers to collectors and collectors to exporters making pepper trade impossible for the entire supply chain .Although some Chinese  buying was reportedly done for White pepper at higher levels  Black pepper did not get any support worthwhile from Chinese traders.  Vietnam has [...]

High volatility keeps pepper under uncertainty

For the past few weeks, confusion prevails in the pepper market in view of the uncertainty over the availability of the material in Brazil Indonesia and Vietnam. Pepper Market Week 21 2024

Pepper Market Review Week 20 2024

Black and white Pepper prices in Vietnam rallied further during the week scaring local  suppliers as well as exporters with more defaults locally with the huge increases in the domestic prices . We are yet to know about the delays and defaults from exporters side as we know local suppliers have been defaulting heavily to the exporters with prices increasing by US$ 1000 pmt after the Tet Holidays till now and US$ 700 pmt from the beginning of May [...]

Pepper Prices Consolidates at 2024 Highs

Black pepper prices spike, likely to rise further

Black and White Pepper Prices in Vietnam which showed a bit easing mode on Monday moved up again from Tuesday to Friday with a further firming trend below the surface  As demand outstrips supply and imports become expensive, black pepper prices have risen, prompting growers to resort to hoarding in anticipation of bigger profits.
