Pepper prices remained flat in week 38 with very minor fluctuations in the local market.The main reason for slight easing of prices was due to the Chinese Withdrawal from the market for two weeks holiday and will be back only on October 5th . Local traders and exporters who were vying with the Chinese for raw material reduced their aggressive buying and the market paused.
Vietnam has imported 35522 metric tons till mid September mostly from Brazil followed by Indonesia and Cambodia and exported 177054 In the same period.
The United States continues to be the largest export market for Vietnamese pepper, accounting for 21.4% of the total, reaching 35,697 tons, down 31.1% over the same period. Followed by the following markets: China: 13,282 tons, up 58.3%; UAE: 12,886 tons, up 9.7%; India: 10,335 tons, up 13.7% and Germany: 8,780 tons
Carryover import and export statistics together with production of 2025 Vietnam still has around 80,000 mts pepper on hand till new crop hits the market in late February early March 2026 one has to closely follow the Vietnam market how they orchestrate the sales of the inventories on hand .
Keep always covered for near term shipments so that buyers won’t be squeezed by the Vietnam farming Community.
