Pepper Price update mid week 31 2025
With the tariff decision finalized, Vietnam has emerged as the most cost-effective origin and the country with the cheapest tariffs. This has prompted USA buyers, who had been delaying their purchases, to enter the market. Already, 142,000 metric tons of pepper from the 2025 crop have been exported, leaving a record low quantity available in Vietnam.
The imbalance between high demand and limited supply is leading sellers to hold back, resulting in indicative prices increasing by almost $150 per metric ton compared to last weekend.
At the close of business today, some exporters quoted the following prices FoB Hochiminh for conventional Pepper
Whole Black Pepper 500 gl Asta Cleaned Max 10% Light Berries and 0.5 % Extraneous Matter and Moisture Max 12% US$ 6250
