Pepper Price Volatility to continue in Vietnam as 2024 Crop almost sold out
Black and White Pepper Prices continue to remain volatile with Lions share of 2024 Crop (estimated between 157 K to 170 K ) has already sold and exported till June 2024 ( 140 K) Import of 20 K during the same period and estimated carry over of 35 K which are lying in very strong hands which might come out only when it surpasses the highs of 2015.The Brazilian crop of 70K and Indonesian Crop of 25 K may not be enough to meet the global demands for the rest of the year and we will see high volatility throughout the year .Timing of procurement will be the key as we know almost all buyers of pepper have very poor coverage for the 3 rd and 4th quarter as exporters were not willing to take any chances as they were badly beaten and bruised in the second quarter of the year.
At close of the week 27 following prices were quoted in the market .
