Pepper markets across all origins remained steady to firm with availability of 2024 produce stocks getting marginalised and demands from China surfacing again for White Pepper though was not expected by us which is an indication for many Vietnam exporters that it will be followed by demand for Black which will push the prices up more.Though our competitors were seeing demand from all over the world we saw it only
Emanating from Eastern Europe.
Market this week opened firm with demand from China for white pepper as Vietnam still decorticating Black to White and availability also very thin. Vietnam has exported 245000 mts of Black and white pepper till 15th December and may be another 5000 mts to push the tally up to 250,000 mts from an estimated crop of 160000 mt which was facilitated by huge carryover and imports mainly from Indonesia for fulfilling export
obligation of Pesticide Compliance Pepper to North America and Europe. Indonesia exported 24000 mts of Black and 16000 mts of White during January to October 2024 .
At close of business today following prices were quoted for January Shipment based on the increased raw pepper from farmgate.
